For more than 148 years, the Horsham Show has brought people together to celebrate agriculture, community and country life. Behind every successful show is a dedicated team of volunteers who help create the experience that thousands of visitors enjoy each year.

Whether you can spare a few hours or join us throughout the event, volunteering is a rewarding way to meet new people, learn new skills, contribute to your community and be part of one of Western Victoria’s most iconic events.

From welcoming visitors through the gates to supporting competitions, exhibitors and entertainment, every volunteer plays an important role in bringing the Horsham Show to life.

Volunteer Opportunities Include:

• Gate entry and ticket scanning
• Event setup and pack down
• Assisting exhibitors and competitors
• Information and visitor services
• Entertainment and activity support
• Pavilion and competition assistance
• Parking and traffic guidance
• General event operations

No previous experience is necessary. Just bring a positive attitude, a willingness to help and a love of community.

Volunteer Benefits

As a thank you for supporting the Horsham Show, volunteers who contribute a minimum of five hours during the pre-event planning, preparation and setup period will receive one complimentary family pass per household to enjoy the Show.

It’s our way of recognising the valuable contribution our volunteers make in bringing the Horsham Show to life.

Are you studying Event Management, Tourism, Marketing or a related field and looking for real-world experience?

The Horsham Agricultural Society is offering a unique internship opportunity as part of the planning and delivery of the 2026 Horsham Show, one of Western Victoria’s largest agricultural events.

This is an opportunity to gain practical, hands-on experience across a wide range of event management activities including:

• Event planning and coordination
• Marketing and social media
• Stakeholder and exhibitor engagement
• Volunteer coordination
• Vendor and entertainment management
• Event operations and logistics
• On-site event delivery and problem solving
• Post-event evaluation and reporting

Working alongside an experienced events team, you’ll gain valuable insight into what it takes to deliver a large-scale community event attracting thousands of visitors.

The Horsham Show combines agriculture, entertainment, competitions, exhibitions, food vendors, market stalls and family activities across a major two-day event, providing exposure to many aspects of the events industry.

This opportunity is ideal for students seeking placement hours, work-integrated learning or practical industry experience. Pre and Post Event availability required.

Become a Show Steward

Show Stewards play an important role in the success of the Horsham Show. Working alongside judges, exhibitors and competitors, stewards help ensure competitions and exhibits run smoothly while maintaining the high standards and traditions that have been part of agricultural shows for generations.

From arts, crafts, cooking and photography to horticulture, livestock and feature competitions, stewards assist with organising entries, preparing exhibits, supporting judges and helping exhibitors throughout the event.

This is a rewarding opportunity to learn more about a competition area, meet like-minded people and contribute to an important community tradition. No previous experience is necessary, with guidance and support provided by experienced volunteers and committee members.

Whether you have a passion for agriculture, arts and crafts, photography, gardening, cooking or simply enjoy being part of a community event, we’d love to welcome you as part of the Horsham Show Steward team.
